At the bottom of this page are application buttons – please scroll down. PLuSS welcomes applications from any landlords or letting agents, or anyone involved in the Private Rented Sector. Our focus is on the borough of Stockton-on-Tees and especially on the PLuSS Priority Areas of Central Stockton-on-Tees, Newtown and North Thornaby.

Approved PLuSS members receive a discount of £10 per property per year from Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council on their Selective Licensing fees, effectively £50 per property over 5 years. This means that if you have 2 or more properties that will be subject to Selective Licensing by Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council, there is no net cost and even may be a financial gain in joining PLuSS!

 

We are a voluntary non-profit association developed by local landlords and agents together with Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council. Being a member brings benefits – and some obligations:

Selective Licensing Discount

Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council offers a discount or £10 per property for PLuSS members on annual Selective Licensing fees. Also PLuSS members qualify for an initial ‘light-touch’ Selective Licensing inspection, with more intensive inspection reserved for cases where significant problems are identified.

Mark of Quality

As a PLuSS member you will be listed here – a mark of quality (with an option to withhold your email address). You have the right to show the PLuSS member logo on your own website and stationery. This all burnishes your credentials as a responsible landlord/agent.

Discounted Waste Collection

Full Members can use Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council’s waste disposal services at special rates, which can quickly save more than the PLuSS membership fee:
House clearance @ £80
Bulky waste (up to 6 items) @ £20

For registered members this website provides additional facilities and information such as legal updates and templates for documents. Members can also access our mutual free tenant referencing service.

PLuSS has member meetings and (for full members) provides up to 100% financial support for appropriate training

  • Join up here (see below), including declaring yourself to be a ‘fit and proper person’
  • Pay the joining fee and the annual subscription – or in some circumstances (see below) you can join for free
  • Provide details of any properties you own in the PLuSS Priority Areas to Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council
  • Abide by the PLuSS Code of Conduct
